This was the 2nd leg of a two part home and away inter condo friendly. The <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com/2006/08/inter-condo-friendly-regentville.html">1st leg</a> was contested at the <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com">Regentville condo</a> at home, where team <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com">Regentville</a> put up a strong showing and made home advantage count to secure a 9-1 advantage.<br /><br />Amidst the constantly rising <a href="http://app.nea.gov.sg/psi/">PSI levels</a> both teams were unfazed by the haze that blanketed much of Singapore over the weekend and fielded our strongest teams. We unfortunately missed <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com/2005/08/players-sandra.html">Sandra</a>, <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com/2006/03/players-angeline.html">Angeline</a> and <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com/2005/08/players-andy.html">Andy</a> during this tie due to the flu bug and other commitments. We however had the services of Francis and <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com/2005/08/players-ray.html">Ray</a> who had missed the <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com/2006/08/inter-condo-friendly-regentville.html">first leg</a>.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/7838/1413/1600/Regentville-Rivervale-Team-2ndLeg.5.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/7838/1413/400/Regentville-Rivervale-Team-2ndLeg.5.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:85%;"><a href="http://rvtennis.multiply.com/">Team Rivervale</a> vs <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com">Team Regentville</a> group photo. <a href="http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/naw1n/album?.dir=/5a69scd&.src=ph">More photos of the entire match can be found here</a>.</span><br /></div><br />We encountered a much improved Rivervale side this time who put up a stern resistance and came back from behind in their first two matches to defeat both our initial doubles pairing. All credit must go to the Rivervale team who maintained their composure to register wins against <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com/2006/02/players-tommy.html">Tommy</a> and <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com/2005/08/players-ray.html">Ray</a>, as well as Andre and Francis, which both went down to the wire. A further lost from our pairing of <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com/2005/08/players-kenneth.html">Kenneth</a> and Luis meant that we went 0-3 down. We were however bolstered by wins from the mixed pairing of <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com/2006/02/players-beng-koon-bk.html">BK</a> and <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com/2005/08/players-serene_20.html">Serene</a>, a hard fought nail biting encounter from Juan and <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com/2005/08/players-dennis.html">Dennis</a> and an impressive showing from our double specialists Yoshi and <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com/2005/08/players-rico.html">Rico</a> that now tied the match at 3 wins a piece.<br /><br />Wins from the combination of Damon and BK meant that we finally led for the first time in the match, but Rivervale again leveled the tie again at 4 games a piece with their experimental youngest pairing of John and Bryan. Team <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com">Regentville</a> however then managed to secure the remaining 4 matches with wins from Rico and Andre, Yoshi and Damon, Tommy and Francis (played 2 more games). I would like to give special credit to Tommy and Francis who despite losing both their earlier matches, maintained their composure to secure wins for <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com">Regentville</a>.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/7838/1413/1600/Rivervale-vs-Regentville-Final-Score.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/7838/1413/400/Rivervale-vs-Regentville-Final-Score.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:85%;">Final score after 12 matches played. <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com">Regentville</a> had won 8 out of the 12 matches contested.</span><br /></div><br />All credit to the <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com">Regentville tennis players</a> for being able to win both home and away matches <span style="font-weight: bold;">9-1 (Home) and 4-8 (Away)</span>. As well as to have to contend with the trying conditions of Rivervale's tennis court layout that give us little width as well as length for our players to move about. We were fortunate not to have lost <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com/2005/08/players-rico.html">Rico</a> when he ran into a lighting pole trying to retrieve a wide shot from one of the Rivervale players, as well as Francis's new racquet when his racquet hit the lighting pole as well :)<br /><br />I would like to congratulate and thank both the <a href="http://regentville.blogspot.com">Regentville</a> and Rivervale condo tennis players for all the effort they have put in to make this friendly competition between our two neighboring condos a great success!<br /><br />More photos from the 2nd away leg can be found here by clicking on this link <a href="http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/naw1n/album?.dir=/5a69scd&amp;.src=ph">Regentville versus Rivervale condo photos 2nd away leg</a>.regentvillehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02482321552754544921noreply@blogger.com
