Prince Pesta Sukan Open Tennis 2006
I was there to cover Sandra's Prince Pesta Sukan Open Tennis +35 ladies open prize presentation ceremony for the Regentville Tennis Blog. As well as to catch a glimpse of the ladies and singles finals. Little did I know that I was asked to help out in taking a couple of photos of Singapore's best players! This was indeed a great honour for me and of course I was glad to assist as I had about 100+ shots left over from the friendly match we had with Rivervale condo.

The local tennis scene has changed so much over the years. There are so many up and coming new tennis players and they are getting younger each year. I had not played in Kallang since my A-Level days which is more than 12+ years ago, things hasn't change much and it still maintains it's rustic charm. I heard something about it being torn down to build the new sports hub. If it's true, it's really sad as it has been an iconic symbol and landmark throughout the years. Even when I was a kid I remembered passing Kallang and seeing the bright floodlights. I remembered asking my dad, hey what's that? (I think i was in primary school then) he said "Oh those are tennis courts". That i guess was my first introduction to Kallang Tennis Center.
I saw many new faces, as if you're are regular there you will know the who's who in tennis. I still managed to see some old faces there so it was somewhat of a homecoming for me cos I started playing tennis at Kallang Center. Congratulations to all the winners as well as those who made the Prince Pesta Sukan Open 2006 a great success!

Steady lah Nawin!
Got to be unofficially appointed as the official photographer. :)
Yup, Kallang brings back lots of memories for me, and many Singaporeans too I'm sure. But, while you were introduced to Tennis there, that would always be a place where I first got to know Soccer!!!
The Kallang Roar!!!
