The Regentville tennis team played the 2nd leg friendly match against Regent Grove condo at Regentville condo Hougang on the 21st of July. The weather for the last couple of days prior to the friendly not been ideal for tennis due to frequent showers in the late afternoon. The match between the two condos was supposed to commence at 5pm but at around 4pm it starting drizzling slightly and by 4.15 pm the rain got heavier and the tennis courts were completely drenched.

I decided to postpone the match to another day but Luis, the organizer for Regent Grove condo said that his players were already on their way and they wanted to wait out the rain. The rain did eventually stop, and it took about an hour to dry the tennis courts so that they will be in playable condition. The courts were still damp however, and not really ideal for playing great tennis but we commenced with the matches anyway.


We managed to have 4 doubles matches before the rain came again to finally stop play for the day. Despite the rain, our spirits were not dampened and both sides had great fun and an enjoyable time. Since we did not complete all the matches, a rematch will be held within the next couple of weeks. I would like to take the opportunity to thank both the Regentville condo tennis team as well as the Regent Grove condo team for their participation. We look forward to having the rematch soon.
